This travel insurance plan is available if you are booking one or more flight tickets on the Air France website to travel to any destinations offered by Air France (except destinations excluded by the insurance plan) and if you wish to be protected against potential unforeseen events beyond your control, which could occur before or during your trip.

To be eligible for the insurance, you must be a resident of the U.S.

This insurance plan is not suitable if you:

  • Participate in certain extreme sports activities or sports competitions during your trip
  • Want to cover multiple trips within the year
  • Have already started your trip
  • Take your trip to a country excluded by the insurance plan
  • Already have another insurance plan that provides the same coverage

No, travel insurance does not provide coverage for changing your mind about travelling. Trip cancellation benefits can reimburse your prepaid, nonrefundable trip payments if you have to cancel your trip for one of the covered reasons stated in your plan documents.

No, travel insurance does not cover flight cancellation by the carrier, including in the event of a strike. Only flight ticket cancellations made by you, as a result of a covered reason, are considered under your travel insurance.

To obtain a refund for a cancelled flight, we suggest you to contact the airline customer service directly.

The Emergency medical benefit allows you to:

  • Be reimbursed for unforeseen covered emergency medical expenses you may incur during your trip, such as a visit to a local doctor for a minor health issue (gastroenteritis, sore throat), medical tests and/or medication prescribed by a local doctor (blood tests, radiology exams), and covered emergency dental expenses (dental limit applies), for example, to treat a severe toothache.
  • Benefit from the payment of covered hospital expenses, if you need to be admitted to a hospital as an inpatient following an accident or serious health problem (hospitalisation costs, surgery, examinations).
  • Benefit from the payment of the covered medically necessary transport to the nearest hospital or appropriate medical facility, as well as medical repatriation to your home following a covered illness or injury.

The quickest and easiest way is to file a claim on the Allianz Global Assistance claims website. To get started, you'll need your email address or policy number, as well as your departure date and plan purchase date.

You can also use the free Allyz app by Allianz Global Assistance to file a claim.
