Plan your flight from Miami to Milan

When is the best time to visit Milan?

In Milan, it can get quite cold during winter with temperatures plunging down to 4 degrees Celsius below zero. During summertime, however, temperatures soar up to 36 degrees Celsius. The hottest months of the year are July and August, and the year's coldest months are January and February. Autumn and spring in Milan are pleasant with warm and sunny weather starting in March.

How to get to the center of the city from the Milan Linate airport?

Milan's Linate Airport, also known as Airport Enrico Forlanini, is just 8 km away from the center of the city. To get from the airport to Milano Centrale, the Central station, use a city bus or one of the quicker buses Air Bus or Starlink that will get you to the center in 20 minutes, the buses run at half-an-hour intervals. The travel time by taxi would also be around 20 minutes.

What are some of the best things to do in Milan?

A world-renowned center of contemporary art, culture and fashion, Milan is a refined and sophisticated city where the old mixes harmoniously with the new. Here, explore museums, old and new, enjoy an aperitivo at a noisy bar and rub shoulders with creatives in Navigli. But, whatever your plan for Milan is, start your Milanese vacation at Piazza del Duomo.

  • The imposing cathedral offers a majestic sight from any angle.
  • Walk around the gigantic, seemingly weightless structure to admire the craftsmanship.
  • Roam under the high ceilings of Galleria Vittorio Emmanuelle and sit down for an espresso or a gelato in one of its bars.
  • Proceed to La Scala and check out the program at the world's famous opera house.
  • Visit the museums of the city. You will find Renaissance masterpieces at the Pinacoteca di Brera and Pinacoteca Ambrosiana. At the small church Santa Maria delle Grazie, you will have a chance to see Leonardo da Vinci's transcendent Last Supper. Apart from museums with classical art, Milan offers a number of contemporary art and design exhibition spaces, foundations and galleries. Fondazione Prada, opened a few years ago by the eponymous fashion designer, has a roster of changing exhibitions as well as a permanent collection of contemporary art. After your visit to Fondazione, visit the adjacent Bar Luce designed by director Wes Anderson.
  • Head to Navigli for an aperitivo and an evening at the canal. Occupy a table at one of the many terraces along the canal and enjoy watching the busy crowds.
