  • Florentine New Year (March 25th)
  • The annual Passion Play (Good Friday, March/April).

What to do in Florence?

Florence has an outstanding concentration of art galleries and museums, housing some of the world’s most important artworks. Foremost amongst these is the Uffizi Gallery, home to Botticelli’s ‘The Birth of Venus’, Da Vinci’s ‘Annunciation’ and ‘Madonna of the Goldfinch’ by Raphael. The Galleria dell’Accademia and the Palazzo Pittiare two additional must-sees.

Florence is also famous for its many churches, including San Miniato al Monte and Santa Croce, not to mention the city’s cathedral or Duomo. The view from the top of the dome is outstanding, but don’t forget the panorama of the whole city available from Piazzale Michelangelo. Air France’s dedicated Florence travel guide has lots of other suggestions of tours and attractions.
